This week on BoredWrestlingFan Radio, the crew (minus Coester) are joined by Alex of Drunk Redhead and Patrick Walford as they present the 2015 BWF Awards.  (They’re the 2015 awards because they’re for things that happened in 2015, so please no “it’s 2016” e-mails).

This year the awards take on a new format where anyone voted for can be considered a “winner,” but for the most part, majority votes still rule.  Categories include the old standards such as “Match of the Year” or “Wrestler of the Year,” but also include awards for things such as “Best Animal Character” and “The Mike Rickard Award for Wrestling’s Greatest Moment.”  Who won?  Only one way to find out – tune in!

“I kept tonight open to be on your show, did not go to TNA,”  says legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter.  “You can quote me on that on Twitter.”  An interview two months in the making, Apter sits down with our own ThinkSoJoe, and jumps right in, referencing his trademark combover and how it makes him easier to spot as he’s photographing older matches.

In the 38 minute interview, Bill talks about how to be a professional pro wrestling journalist, the Championship Office Wrestling Championship, and his recent trip to England.  He asks about the name “Bored Wrestling Fan,” and talks about whether or not he gets bored with the product after 50 years, praising Kevin Owens and Neville’s match from RAW this past Monday specifically.  We discuss whether three hours is too long, and he tells a story about a body shop where the workers spent 15 minutes discussing RAW.

We get into a story from Bill’s new book, “Is Wrestling Fixed? I Didn’t Know It Was Broken,” where Bill tries the hotel business, an endeavor in which he compares himself to comedian Jerry Lewis.  The hotel talk continues on to a chapter in Bill’s book about the late Tony Parisi, who owned hotels and restaurants in Niagara Falls.

We talk about the dangers of being a ringside photographer – particularly when Abdullah The Butcher is involved.  It’s also revealed that the book title was inspired by a conversation Bill had with a young fan about Abdullah.

Bill teaches Joe how to correctly pronounced Andy Kaufman’s name, then talks about Mike Tyson borrowing subway fare from him.  This leads to a discussion about the New Day, who referenced Tyson this past Monday on RAW.  “The New Day is terrific” says Bill.  He says they’re having fun.  “Don’t you want to have fun at your job?”

The discussion turns to 1Wrestling.com, Bill’s home on the web.  He talks about the innovations that the site came up with, and how it may be the oldest active pro wrestling site.

We talk about NJPW, and the rumors of Shinsuke Nakamura and members of the Bullet Club leaving and signing with WWE.  At the time of the interview, we hadn’t seen any confirmation (WWE tweeted about the rumors while we were recording).

Talk turns to the Royal Rumble and the fact that the WWE Championship will be on the line in the Royal Rumble match for the first time in 23 years.  We talk about possible winners, and possible programs coming out of the event.  We talk about Jericho’s appearance on RAW and his interaction with The New Day.

Lastly, Joe asks when they were going to do karaoke – to which Bill responds by breaking out a flash drive.  Bill raps “Moon River,” before offering up The Temptations “My Girl” for a duet.  “Now I see why you don’t karaoke,” says Apter.  He plugs upcoming appearances before closing us out with a rendition of Harry Connick, Jr’s “For Once In My Life.”

We said we weren’t.  We said we wouldn’t.  We said there was going to be nothing that would make us do it.  We were wrong.  For the second consecutive year, we were shocked enough by an occurrence at WrestleMania that we were compelled to do a post show.

“We’ll go about 30.”  Infamous last words, apparently, as Joe and G went over two hours talking about WrestleMania 31, which turned out to be far better than any of our crew expected.  While we didn’t quite get some of the outcomes (Sting jobbed to Triple H?  Really?), overall we were pleased with the event – particularly the ending.  Tune in!

This week on BoredWrestlingFan Radio, The Agent To The Stars Brian Deville returns to the show!  Mr. Deville will be a part of Empire State Wrestling’s “Domination” event on Saturday, April 5th at St. Johnsburg Fire Hall in North Tonawanda, NY representing The Hate Brigade and Mr. Entertainment RJ City.

We spend the first hour as per usual attempting to aviod talking about the WWE product and instead praise this weeks Lucha Underground, particularly the “Grave Consequences” main event between Fenix and Mil Muertes.  How did the end of RAW compare?  Joe and Brian both forgot that Sting had closed it out.

In the news, we talk about the cirumstances surrounding the death of Perro Aguayo Jr. Friday night after a match on the CRASH show in Tijuana.  We discuss Max Landis’s awesome video, “Wrestling Isn’t Wrestling,” finding out that no less than Triple H is a fan of it.  We find out WWE’s response to a letter written to them by one of 10 fans who were forced to change out of their costumes and into (comped) WWE t-shirts this past Monday at RAW.  We get more on the ongoing story of Bill DeMott.  The IMPACT Wrestling rating drops again, and we learn of a surprising talent posessed by one Jim Ross.  All this and much, much more!  Tune in!

This week on the BWF Radio, Joe finally relieves his boredom – if only for a couple of hours – with the help of JT, Mark, and G.  His boredom started Monday when RAW left him nothing but an amazing Paul Heyman promo, and a lot of confusion with regards to why Sting didn’t sound like Sting.  He was entertained by NXT and Lucha Underground, particularly the storytelling in the matches on this week’s show, but that’s only two hours of entertainment in an entire week of boredom.

In the news, Wiz Khalifa admits to violating the WWE wellness policy during his RAW performance.  Bill DeMott is still intimidating people after stepping down from his WWE job, but more people are also speaking out about their time under DeMott’s thumb.  The Kliq hand gesture becomes very controversial as WWE tries to trademark it, the Young Bucks try to use it, and North Carolina State University already owns it.  Victoria/Tara/ fuck it she’s Lisa Marie Varon encourages patrons to not tip the waitress at her Squared Circle Restaurant – and for good reason.  Several stars sign renewed their TNA contracts.  And Kayfabe News pads out most of this podcast to get us close to two hours.  Tune in!
