JT: Guys it’s Thursday not Sunday. What are you guys doing?

Mark: Joe said we need to get ahold of you, it’s rather important.

JT:  What is it? I’m doing my half assed Ring Of Honor coverage.

Joe:  Thats why.  I needed to remind you that their production values suck. And I love Twinkie hotdog sandwiches.

JT:  I know that you tell us every week.

Jorge:  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,  oh sorry fell asleep there What’s Ring Of Honor?

JT: ROH

Jorge: Oh, what Joe said.

G:  I hear Matt Hardy’s on fire.

JT:  Hardy hasn’t been on TV since the ROH vs. SCUM finale.  I don’t even know if he’s still with the company.  I think you’ve had some tainted Labatt’s.

G: The water’s fine up here.  What happened this week?

Canadian JT: Hey, how dare you criticize our great Canadian water.  It’s much better than that American shit you call Budweiser.

JT:  Well since this week is still round 1 of the tournament on TV and all matches are tournament this week.  Well since we know the final four already and two of them are in action tonight, Tommaso Ciampa and Michael Elgin, they win their matches.  This week’s episode has the match where BJ Whitmer Get’s injured and that happened like a month ago. <sigh> I hate the fact that we’ll know who the new ROH champion will be before the 2nd round of the tournament begins.  Great booking ROH.

Joe: Thats because they have bad production values.

JT Hogan: Well you know something brother, if I was running that shitshow, the title would never be vacant because either myself, Brooke, Nick or Linda would be champion at all times.  Yes Linda, it was agreed in the divorce. Dude Brother.

Jorge: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, what? Oh fell asleep again all this Ring of Honor talk puts me to sleep, let’s just go to the impact review.

Mark:  Yay, now it’s my time to shine, screw you ROH review!

Steve Corino gloats on how this is the final era of ROH and how he’s gonna be on commentary for it all. He then says that his choice to face the ROH Champion will not only win the title but he will be the last ROH Champion.

Jay Lethal comes out, bitches about the loss and how Kevin Steen replacing him was a mistake and that he’s a good bot and loyal to ROH.

Match 2- BJ Whitmer def. Rhett Titus in an I quit match.

Post match Jimmy Jacobs & Cliff Compton attack Whitmer bringing Jay Lethal & Michael Elgin to the ring and we go into

Match 3- Domino & Jimmy Jacobs def.  Michael Elgin & Kevin Steen: No that’s not a typo Steen was in this match.  Lethal was injured halfway through while being a spot monkey and had to be carried out.  Elgin is by himself for some time before Steen comes to the rescue.  Elgin is hesitant until McGuinness officially puts him in the match (he is on commentary).  Steen is the one who takes the fall here and we end with a pissed off Elgin and Steve Crino glosting in Nigel McGuinness’ face.

Oh and btw we were told 4 times during the broadcast to “Buy The Replay”  Thats all for now until Cock Talk tomorrow, this is JT saying peace out or something.

Inside ROH segment was all about BJ Whitmer who has a ROH title shot on May 18 in Richmond, VA.  They then go to an interview with him  an he tells us his sob story on how he fell to the bottom and picked himself back up and now that he’s back for his 2nd chance in ROH and this time he’s gonna become champ.

We begin with a recap of Kevin Steen being beat out of SCUM.

We then go to Steve Corino who’s in the ring and issues a challenge or any 3 ROH guys to challenge Rhett Titus, Cliff Compton, and Jimmy Jacobs.  Accepting the challenge is BJ Whitmer and Coleman & Alexander.

Match 1: SCUM def. BJ Whitmer and Coleman & Alexander when Titus hit Whitmer with a chain wrapped around his hand.  Post match beatdown ins stopped by Jay Lethal & Michael Elgin.

Match 2: Jay Lethal def. Rhett Titus-  This match started during the commercial break after Lethal voiced his disgust for Titus and challenged him to a match (all this happened during the commercial break).  Not a bad little bout between the two.

Since this was the first victory foe any member of ROH over a SCUM member, Lethal gets on the mic and says that this is only the beginning and that Border Wars ROH will get rid of Corino & SCUM for good.

Inside ROH:

1. Rundown of the Border Wars card announced that Kevin Steen will be there 
2. Michael Elgin says that next week he’s gonna beat Karl Anderson and then it’s on to his next title shot
3. Next week’s other match will be Davey Richards vs. Kyle O’Reilly-  O’Reilly says he’s gonna beat Richards

Recap of Border Wars 2012 when Kevin Steen won the ROH world title.

ROH title match contract signing for this year’s Border Wars-  Adam Cole & Jay Briscoe came out signed the contract and shook hands.  Pretty boring eh, well if you thought that was all then I have some property to sell you in Timbuktu as Steve Corino comes out with Matt Hardy & Rhino and says that Jay should defend his title against Hardy instead of Cole.  Jay then challenges Rhino & Hardy to a Tag Team Match playa! (playa may not have actually been said)

Match 3- Adam Cole & Jay Briscoe def. Rhino & Matt Hardy-  not much to say except this set up some tension between Cole & Briscoe since Cole blind tagged Jay, kicked him accidentally, allowed Rhino to hit Jay with a gore and then Cole steal the victory with the ROH flowchart finishing move the rollup!  Pose match sees both Jay & Adam face to face as we fade to black.

Overall, meh.  Nothing really stood out to me in this episode, just felt like filler until next week’s Border Wars.  Well thats all for now until bWf Radio tomorrow 2pm est DUDEBROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kevin Steen comes out and is about address the crowd until he is interrupted by Steve Corino who wants to know why Steen hasn’t been answering his calls, texts e-mails, etc.  Corino says the plan to take down Ring Of Honor is still on.  Steen says that since Jim Cornette is gone, there is no need to take down Ring Of Honor and that it is fine the way it is.  He then states that he wants his title back.  SCUM comes down.  Corino say that maybe the focus in SCUM should be on someone else and not Steen.  Steen says he’ll follow him to hell and back but will not get behind Matt Hardy.  Corino gets mad and says that they can go their separate ways.  SCUM beats Steen down ending with a Twist Of Fate from Hardy.

Match 1:  Roderick Strong def Mike Bennett- Post match Mikey Mondo (who was guest commentary) attacks both men.

Match 2: Tadarius Thomas & Jorge Santi ended in a no contest when SCUM attacked them.

Post match Corino says that the mission stays the same to destroy Ring Of Honor.  Nigel McGuinness comes out they banter back & forth (hey I thought this show was supposed to be about wrestling) Corino calls himself god, McGuinness orders SCUM out of the arens and calls his backup of Jay Lethal & Michael Elgin.  Corino says that his chosen one will become ROH Champion and the last one at that.  McGuinness says there will never be another SCUM ROH Champion since none of them deserve a title shot.  Corino demands one shot and if SCUM loses, Corino will leave wrestling forever.  McGuiness says it’s on and at Border Wars Lethal & Elgin will face any 2 SCUM members of Corino’s choosing and if SCUM wins Corino can give at title shot to anyone in SCUM but if SCUM loses, Corino is gone.  Corino adds to the stipulation that if SCUM wins he gets the commentator position next to Kevin Kelly and can say anything he wants.

Inside ROH:

• Jay Brisoe mumbled something like he’ll see Adam Cole at Border Wars (there were 4 of them all mumbling stuff at the same time)
• ACH says he’s gonna beat Matt Taven and become the new TV Champion.
• Mark Briscoe says he was born to be TV Champ and if he had to choose who he faces at Border Wars it would be ACH but it doesn’t matter either way since he’ll be the new TV Champion.
• We got a look at Karl Anderson who will used to be tag partners with Sweet Tensai and will be facing Michael Elgin in 2 weeks

Match 3: Matt Taven def ACH to retain the ROH TV Title

Overall while the wrestling, what we got of it, was pretty good, but the talking was way too much and got pretty boring at times.  I thought this company was supposed to be about the wrestling? Well thats all for this week and don’t forget bWf radio Sun 2pm EST!

We begin with Highlights of Jay Briscoe’s World Title win over Kevin Steen at Supercard Of Honor VII.

ROH Intro

We go to the ring which is surrounded by the Ring Of Honor Superstars as Nigel McGuiness gloats over Jay Briscoe’s win and introduces him. Jay then comes out and says that he’s gonna be champion for a long time and is ready to take on all comers.  Adam Cole then challenges him for the title at Border Wars.

Pre match comments from Bobby Fish trash talking Eddie Edwards

Pre match form Eddie Edwards who says that he will come out on top.

Match1: Bobby Fish (with Kyle O’Reilly) def Eddie Edwards (with Davey Richards)- pretty good match, Fish won clean this probably should’ve been a TV main event.

Match2:  QT Marshall & RD Evans def. Alabama Attitude-  Evans calls their team the Perfect Tag Team but during the match Marshall shows signs of annoyance as Evans sneaks pins and steals the victory.

As introductions for the TV Main Event begin (with Mikey Mondo) Roderick Strong comes out and chines that everyone is getting title opportunities except and then says to Mikey that he doesn’t belong here prompting a brawl between the two to be broken up between the two.

Match 3:  Mark Briscoe def. Cedrick Alexander, BJ Whitmer, Mikey Mondo, and Caprice Coleman to earn a TV title shot at Border Wars- This was a good TV Main Event but very short since Edwards vs. Fish had way more time.

Match1- A.C.H. & Tadarius Thomas def. Adam Page & Mike Sydal

Veda Scott interviews Mschif about her 4-way match tonight but is then interrupted by Truth Martini & Scarlet Bordeaux.  Martini asks Mschif if she wants to be a Hoopla Hottie but Mschif refuses and walks away.  Bordeaux then says that she isn’t hot enough anyway.  Martini then tells us that Bordeaux is in the 4-way match too.  This segment then gets creepy as while Bordeaux pretends to cry, Martini wipes the tear away an then licks his finger in enjoyment.

Match2- Athena def. Scarlet Bordeaux, Cherry Bomb & Mschif when Athena pinned Cherry Bomb.

Post match Veda Scott tried to interview Mschif about her first loss since coming back to ROH but Mschif just spits green mist in her face.

This weeks Inside ROH has Kevin Kelly apologizing for the Inside S.C.U.M. segment from last week and had a look at tonights Main Event Tag Team Title matchup between reDRagon & Forever Hooligans.  (Hmmm since this was taped before last night’s ippv I wonder who’s winning here)

It’s at this point in the show that I realize that in this 1 hour of programming that we got more matches than on Smackdown & Main Event combined.

We begin with a recap of last week’s S.C.U.M.’s challenge to ROH.

Kevin Steen comes out and is about to talk and is interrupted by Jay Briscoe who says that Steen is a bitch and he will beat him for the ROH World title.  Steen is about to respond but is interrupted by Steve Corino who talks trash to Jay.  Finally Steen is allowed to talk and when he does he says that he is proud to be ROH Champion and he will be even prouder when he beats both Briscoe Brothers for the title and tells Jay “we’ll see who the bitch is, Bitch” and the leaves the ring.  Corino then trash talks Jay some more until Jay pulls out a weapon he has hidden in his sling and is about to attack Corino with it until S.C.U.M. and ROH members come out, start brawling which leads us to our first match of the night:

Match 1: Rhett Titus & Cliff Compton Def. Coleman & Alexander with help from S.C.U.M. members Jimmy Rave and Jimmy Jacobs.

Match 2: Jimmy Jacobs def Mikey Mondo- Jacobs used held onto the ropes to get the win.

This week we got no Inside ROH but Inside S.C.U.M. where Steve Corino briefly described all the new members of the group and explains how they were all screwed by ROH.  We then got to Steen who is about to talk about his title match with Jay Briacoe but is cut off again by Corino who is yelling at production for playing the wrong interview ending the segment.

Match 3: Steve Corino, Matt Hardy & Rhino def. Michael Elgin, Jay Lethal and BJ Whitmer-  Early on Corino offers Lethal a sopt in S.C.U.M. in which Lethal refuses and blows his nose on a S.C.U.M. shirt.  The match ends here with the rest of S.C.U.M. coming out handcuffing Elgin & Lethal to the ropes allowing a 3 on 1 attack of Whitmer in which Matt Hardy pinning him after a Twist Of Fate.

Post match Jay Briscoe comes out and says S.C.U.M. dies at Supercard of Honor 7 as he, Elgin Lethal and Whitmer all stand in the ring.

Then we get a Supercard Of Honor rundown (it’s April 5 on ippv) and we fade to black.

Match 3-  Davey Richards & Kyle O’Reilly vs. Kevin Steen & Jimmy Jacobs ended in a no contest when multiple referees couldn’t keep control of the match.  The brawl continues after the match as we fade to black.

Match 1: Mike Bennett w/Maria and Brutal Bob def Adam Page

Post match beatdown of Page was broken up by Eddie Edwards.  Bennett then challenges Edwards to a match against Brutal Bob next week.  Edwards accepts while laughing.

Best In The World promo with Adam Cole-  He’s gonna cut the same promo as last week by saying that he’s gonna prove to Kyle O’Reilly that he’s a better wrestler than O’Reilly.

Steve Corino demands that Jim Cornette listen to what Kevin Steen has to say.  Steen says that he’s waiting for an answer form Cornette about his piledriver finisher.  He quotes Ricahrds saying to bring it last week.  Steen then says that he’s come out on top in every single challenge that Cornette has put in front of him and want his title match with Richards to be anything goes.

Match 2:  The Briscoe’s def Sam Shaw & QT Marshall.

After the match Truth Martini refuses to be ignored and want’s an answer to his challenge from last week.  The Briscoe’s accept.

Veda Scott with Embassy Ltd.-   Nana & Evans tried to advise Tommaso Ciampa  on other options other than the TV Title and then they left.

Inside ROH was a rundown of the Best In The World card which can be found here.

Veda Scott with Truth Martini & Roderick Strong-  Strong is whining about having to defend the belt tonight.  Martini tells him the fix is in and they leave.

Match 3: Roderick Strong w/Truth Martini def. Tommaso Ciampa w/Embassy Ltd. when Nana attacked Strong while Ciampa had him pinned.  Post match Ciampa seemes more pissed off, he gets in Nana’a face and lesves the ring without the rest of Embassy Ltd. as we fade to black.

Kevin Kelly with Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team- They say that anyone honoring the Code Of Honor when they wrestle them will be put in serious bodily harm and ROH can do nothing about it.  They call the All Night Express lame and wannabe’s .  All Night Express comes out, calls them old news and they are gonns take the title’s from them.  Benjamin call the All Night Express just another tag team who wishes they were Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team.  They brawl with The All Night Express coming out on top.

Inside ROH:

1. Jay Briscoe wants Charlie Haas.  They are wrestling in a texas death match at a non TV event.
2. Best In the World rundown of the matches we already know.
3. Jay Lethal vs. Roderick Strong vs, Tommaso Ciampa for the TV title is announced.
4. Strong is upset that he has to face Ciampa twice, next week and at Best In The World.
5. The Embassy say they were trying to avoit the matchup’s but Ciampa demanded them and it’s good for business.
6. Lethal is mad that the road back to the TV title has to go through Ciampa again.
7. Kyle O’Reilly is gonna hurt Adam Cole at Best In the World.
8. Cole is gonna show O’Reilly that he is a better wrestler than him.

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us, they’re upset that Steen is the new ROH Champion.

Adam Cole promo- He doesn’t fear Mike Mondo and is gonna run thru him.

Mike Mondo promo- No Rest, No Mercy, No Fear is what Cole’s gonna get, Mondo hates pretty boys and is gonna smash Cole’s face so bad it will have to be put back together like a puzzle.

Match 1- Adam Cole vs. Mike Mondo: Kyle O’Reilly is on commentary for the match.  Mondo does pushups.  The match is pretty back and forth.  Mondo ties Cole up in the turnbuckle and ring apron.  Mondo does rest holds, funny for someone who has No Rest as his tag line.  the match goes back and forth again.  Mondo tries to for the win via DDT but Cole reverses it into a backslide and a 3 count getting the win.

Best In The World 2012 is 6/24- The All Night Express is ready for Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team.

Match 2- Nick Westgate vs. Tommaso Ciampa w/Embassy Ltd:  This is the first time we’ve see Westgate and Ciampa is still mad over the loss to Lethal, I wonder who’s winning here.  Ciampa kills Westgate by Knockout knee to the head.

Inside ROH:

1. Charlie Haas says Mark Briscoe was covered in grease.  That’s why it took them so long to beat the Briscoe’s.
2. Shelton Benjamin mocks The All Night Express calling them lame.
3. Jay Lethal wants hie TV Title back.

Match 3- Coleman & Alexander vs. The All Night Express:  Words cannot explain hoe awesome this match was.  This is why I’ll probably be voting a ROH team yet again as Tag Team of the year.  The All Night Express win using the One Night Stand.

Kevin Kelly interviews Kevin Steen.  Steen comes out With Jimmy Jacobs and Steve Corino.  Corino takes the mic away from Kelly and mocks him because Corino is only on DVD’ while McGuinness is on TV.  Steen says he is a man of his words.  He will be the champion he feels to be.  He will show up to events when he is supposed to.  In September, he will show up to the network even in his tuxedo T-shirt (didn’t say if would be clean or not).  He will tell people what they need to know about ROH and Jim Cornette.  Cornette comes out and promises he won’t be champion long enough to be at the network even in September.  Cornette then chews Corino out for not preventing Steen from becoming champion and fires him.  Corino then blames Cornette for not being able to wrestle and tells Cornette cant pick his friends and then tells Cornette to shut up.  Cornette tthen says Steen is bad for ROH’s image and has been talking to everyone backstage and everyone want’s a piece of Steen.  Davey Richards and Kyle O’Reilly come out.  Richards tells Cornette to kiss his ass.  Richards only fights for Richards only.  He admits that at Border Wars, Steen was the better man that night and challenges Steen to a rematch and if he doesn’t, Richards will kick Cornette’s ass.  Steen leaves the ring and calls Cornette the only tennis player with no balls.  COrnette than gives Richards the match, but it will be his only shot for the belt.  Richards then says that he will win the title for him and he’s coming for Steen and will be Steen’s worst nightmare.  We fade to black.

In our only match of the evening Kevin Steen def. Davey Richards to become the new ROH World Champion. Great match.  Steen won using his piledriver and with no outside help.  Steve Corrino joined him post match and celebrated with the new champ.

Post match in the locker room, Steen while eating cake and throwing it at Kevin Kelly says that he has taken ROH hostage and is gonna love every minute of it.

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us and hype up tonight’s card.

Match 1: Eddie Edwards vs. Mike Bennett w/Maria & Brutal Bob-  Edwards wins with an inside cradle rollup pin.  Post match Bennett attacks Edwards even allowing Evans and Maria to get shots in.

Match 2:  Grizzly Redwood vs Kamel Dickinson-  Hey look Justin Ruff and ThinkSoJoE interviewed Grizzly a couple weeks ago.  If you haven’t listened to it yet you should.  Well The House Of Truth shows up before the match and offers Grizzly and Dickinson to wrestle Michael Elgin in a handicap match and offers them $1000 for it.  They take the money and accept. So…

Match 2:  Michael Elgin w/The House of Truth vs. Grizzly Redwood & Kamal Dickinson-  Elgin makes quick work of Dickinson and eliminates him with a powerbomb.  Redwood isn’t as easy as he gets some good offense in. But Elgin begins to dominate Jay Lethal comes out and is now in the match.  As Lethal and Elgin go at it in the ring, Redwood gets taken out by Roderick Strong and Truth Martini.  Just as Elgin is about to pwerbomb Lethal, Strong grabs Lethal and attacks him resulting in DQ victory for Lethal.  Post match Strong and Elgin argue and Lethal hits a Lethal Injection on Strong as Elgin watches.  I like how the this started out as one match and the finish involved two people not even involved in the original match.  If WWE did this, people would crap all over it.

Inside ROH:

1. All Night Express are mad and are gonna hurt the Young Bucks
2. The Young Bucks are cocky and are gonna superkick the All Night Express to sleep and they will never wake up.
3. Best In The World is 6/24/12 in New York City.
4. Next week we will get Kevin Steen vs. Davey Richards in it’s entirety.

Match 1: D-Line (Black Ice & Body Snatcher) vs. Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team-  Good back and forth matchup with Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team coming out on top with Haas making Body Snatcher tap out to the Haas of Pain.

Border Wars Promo with Mike Bennett & Maria

Match 2: Trios Match Ophidian & The Ice Creams vs. The Colony-  This is a match featuring Chikara superstars.  Ultramantis Black is on commentary for the match.  I’m not a fan of the lucha libre style.  The guys tried hard, The Colony wins using the anthill.

Match 3:  Ricky Reyes vs. Jay Lethal-  Reyes jumps Lethal before the match and dominates early but Lethal gains control and keep’s it foe pretty much the rest of the match winning with a Lethal Injection.

Veda Scott with Davey Richards- He says that Rhino is the hunted and he is not afraid of Rhino.

Inside ROH:

1. Eddie Edwards wants revenge for his loss to Mike Bennett back in March.
2. Mike Bennett is gonna finish Edwards quick to prove he is better than the best.
3. The Young Bucks are cocky and are gonna prove why they are the most amazing tag team in ROH.
4. The All Night Express say that it will be their day of retribution and they will finally put an end to the Young Bucks.

Veds Scott with Rhino and Truth Martini-  Martini says that money talks and Rhino gores and Davey Richards dies.  Rhino says he’s gonna gore Richards.

Match 4- Proving Ground Match: Davey Richards vs. Rhino with Truth Martini and Roderick Strong-  Really good back and forth matchup between the two that was ruined by a crap finish when after leapfrogging over Rhino to avoid the gore, Richards rolls Rhino up for a cheap pin, it didn’t even look like Richards was holding Rhino’s shoulders down.  After the match Strong attacks Richards causing Jay Lethal to come out and save the day.  We fade to black.

We begin with highlights of last weeks proving ground match between Coleman & Alexander and the Briscoe’s.

ROH Intro

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us as we go straight into our first match.

Match 1:  Tommaso Ciampa w/ Embassy Ltd. vs. Matt Taven-  Ciampa strikes early by hitting a full Nelson suplex on Taven before the bell even rings.  Jay Lethal comes out and sits ringside for the match.  Taven then Suplexes Ciampa on the “concrete” floor.  Taven controls for a bit.  Ciampa then hits a dropkick on the leg.  Taven then hits a neck-breaker then a frog splach but only gets a 2 count.  Ciampa then hits a knee to the head but only gets a 2 count.  Ciampa then ties Taven up in the corner and hits 2 more knees to the head, then a Project Ciampa and gets the win.  Lethal and Ciampa stare each other down after the match.

Veds Scott with TJ Perkins-  Mike Mondo can’t stop him. The Young Bucks then show up and mock him.  They exchange insults.  Perkins says he will take them no matter how many of them there are.

Match 2:  Mike Mondo vs.  TJ Perkins-  They roll around for a bit, then Perkins hits a neck-breaker.  They run around the ring.  Mondo hits Perkins from behind, and puts a fish hook on him.  The fight goes outside the ring as Mondo runs Perkins into the barrier twice.  Back in the ring, Mondo puts a claw like move on Perkins head, Perkins fights out of it.  After a bunch of rest moves Mondo tries to bite Perkins’ eyeball out.  Perkins fights out of it  and hits some flip flop moves.  The Young Bucks come out and distract Perkins allowing Mondo to hit a double arm DDT and picking up the win.  After the match Mondo ant the Bucks attack Perkins bringing the All Night Express out to save the day.

Inside ROH was just a rundown of this Saturday’s Border Wars Pay Per View.

Veda Scott with Kyle O’Reilly- He kinda cuts a robot promo.  He wonders why people like Kevin Steen and he’s gonna expose Steen for the fraud he is.

Match 3:  Kyle O’Reilly vs. Kevin Steen w/Jimmy Jacobs-  “Kill Steen Kill” chants from the crowd.  Steve Corino is on commentary for the match.  They try to go back and forth but Steen no sells everything and then powerbombs O’Reilly outside the ring.  Steen is killing O’Reilly until runs into an empty turnbuckle missing O’Reilly.  O’Reilly then hits a missile dropkick outside the ring but it looks like he hurt his ankle.  Back In the ring, O’Reilly hits another missile dropkick.  He goes for a third but is stopped by Steen who turns into a DDT off the ropes.  Steen then hits O’Reilly with a cannonball in the corner.  O’Reilly then puts Steen in an armbar but Steen gets to the ropes.  Steen then hits a elevated powerbomb knocking O’Reilly’s mouthpiece out.  Steen then puts the mouthpiece in his own mouth and puts O’Reilly in an ankle lock on O’Reilly’s injured ankle.  O’Reilly fights out of it and hits an insaguri.  O’Reilly then throws his mouthpiece at Jacobs but turns around into an F5 from Steen and Steen picks up the win.  Post match, Steen grabs his tennis racquet and beats O’Reilly with it.  Jacobs joins along in the fun but it only brings out Davey Richards for the save.  Richards puts Steen in an ankle lock only for Jacobs to hit Richards with a low blow, the crowd starts Daniel Bryan’s “YES!” chants.  As Steen attacks Richards with the tennis racquet until security breaks it all up.  But first Steen got one final knockout blow to the head of Richards.

After the commercial, Richards says that he’s gonna Steen’s ass and that his days as a wrestler will end and that the wolf is back and coming straight for him. We fade to black.

Veda Scott with  Prince Nana, R.D. Evans and Truth Martini.  Nana sings “We’re into money!” They’ve come together to purchase Rhino.  Rhino says he’s gonna kill Eddie Edwards at Border Wars.

Match 2- Vinny Marsegla vs Rhino w/ Truth Martini-  Before the match, Martini brags about how awesome he is, calla Marselga a funny looking tatooed man and hoped that he kissed his momma goodbye.  Rhino kills Marsegla in about 30 seconds with a gore.

Kevin Kelly and Jim Cornette interview Kevin Steen-  Steen comes out with Jimmy Jacobs.  Steen makes a 1997 reference to Cornette, wants to know why Cornette never returned his calls while he was out claiming “Probably because he was fanticising about Davey Richards matches.”  He makes a fat joke toward Cornette, calls Richards out in which Richards does.  Richards says he’s gonna kick Steen’s head off.  Steen says it’s about more than the title, blames Richards for not helping him get back in ROH.  Richards says Steen’s biggest problem is Steen himself.  Steen calls Richards a hypocrite.  Richards says he will end Steen.  They are about to go at it until Cornette stops it.  He makes the piledriver legal for their match at Border Wars as long as they bot sign a waiver.  After both men sign the waiver, Cornette informs Steen that it will be his only title match.  Steen says he only needs one shot.  Richards says Steen has no shot.

Inside ROH Border Wars Rundown:

1. Wrestlings Greatest Tag Team vs The Briscoe’s will be the last meeting between the two for the titles.  There must be a winner.
2. Robot Lance Storm promo-  He’s…..gonna….make….Mike…Bennett….pay…
3. Jay Lethal promo- He’s pissed that Tomasso Ciampa cost him the TV title and he will become the new dominant male.
4. Tomasso Ciampa promo-  Lethal’s gonna find out what Project Ciampa is all about.
5. Eddie Edwards promo-  He’s not scards of Rhino.  He’s gonna show what “Die Hard” is all about.

This is a Road Rage episode.  Now basically I’m just gonna tell you the outcome of the matches since every probably knows them by now.

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness inform us that tonight’s episode will feature matches from day 1 of Showdown In The Sun.

Mike Bennett promo- the time for being serious is over and he’s gonna shut down Lance Storm.

Match 1 Mike Bennett def. Lance Storm with a T.K.O. (the move not by actually T.K.O.).  After the match Bennett and Storm shake hands, then Bennett hits Storm with his Box Office Smash finisher.

Lance Storm robot promo- he wants a rematch.

Match 2- We basically get the end of the proving ground match of the Briscoe’s defeating two guys from Australia Haste and Nichols I think were their names.

Inside ROH:

1. We got highlights of Davey Richards defeating Roderick Strong and Eddie Edwards.
2. Highlights of the press conference where Davey Richards vs Kevin Steen is made for Border Wars.
3. Jim Cornette says that he’s been protecting Steen from Richards.  He also said that he’s putting all his faith in Richards to beat Steen.
4. Finlay will make his ROH debut at Border Wars against Roderick Strong.
5. The Briscoe Brothers will face Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team in a fight without honor match at Border Wars.
6. Eddie Edwards will face Rhyno at Border Wars.  Rhyno is Truth Martini’s newest acquisition.
7. Edwards knows that Martini wants Edwards eliminated to make it easier for Roderick Strong to become champion.  He says he will take Rhyno out.

ROH Intro

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us.  They remind us that tonight is the finals of March Mayhem.

Match 1- The Young Bucks vs. Shiloh Jones & TJ Perkins:  Experienced team vs new tage team with guys who always lose, hmmm?  Perkins and Jones control early, then The Bucks hit some cool double team moves to gain control.  Perkins does some flippy floppy moves.  Jones comes off the top rope to receive a superkick, then the Young Bucks hit “More Bang For Your Buck” finidher for the win.

Border Wars promo with Jay Lethal.

Highlights of Mike Mondo & Matt Tavern feud.  I totally forgot this feud even existed.

Match 2- Mike Mindo vs. Matt Tavern:  Tavern flips Mondo who lands on his ankle injuring it to the point that he has to take off the boot he was wearing. Or so we thought.  Mondo attacks Tavern outside the ring.  Tavern hits a sick powerslam on Mondo.  They continue to brawl outside the ring.  Tavern suplexes Mondo on the entrance ramp.  They actually make it back to the ring where Tavern hits Mondo with a cross body off the top rope.  Tavern then goes for a second cross body but it’s blocked.  Mondo then hits a double arm DDT for the win.  Great match between the two.

Inside ROH- Kevin Steen interrupts a ROH press conference for Border Wars.  Finlay and Rhyno are gonna be there.  Steen interrrupts and demands a match with Davey Richards and gets it.  Richards says he can even bring his piledriver along with him.

Brief promo’s from all for of tonights March Mayhem Finals matchup.

Match3-  March Mayhem Finals:  Adam Cole vs. Jay Lethal vs. Mike Bennett w/Maria & Bob Evans vs. Tommaso Ciampa w/Embassy Ltd.-

This is a elimination match with two men in the ring at one time. Elimination can occur by pinfall, submission, countout, or knockout.

Jay Lethal eliminates Mike Bennett by pin with the Lethal Injection.

Tommaso Ciama eliminates Jay Lethal by pinfall after a knee to the head.

This leaves us with Adam Cole vs Tommaso Ciampa.  After being taken out earlier in the match by Bennett, Cole struggles to get back into the ring and when he does he is attacked by Ciampa who backs COle into a corner and hits no one not two but three knees to the head (the same one that took out Lethal).  After the third knee to the head, Cole stands up and hits Ciampa with a superkick.  The action goes outside the ring as Ciampa hits his kryptonite crunch on Cole but COle doesn’t give up.  Ciampa then goes for a Project Ciampa but COle turns into a sleeper.  Ciampa gets out of it only to be hit in the back of the head by another superkick, this time to the back of the head.  Cole then puts another sleeper on Ciampa this time laying down in the center of the ring.  Ciampa somehow fights out of it.  As Cole goes to the top rope, Lethal comes out presumably after Ciampa, Ciampa runs into the ropes knocking Cole down allowing Ciampa to hit the Project Ciampa for the win by pinfall.  Prince Nana sings “Were Into Money” as we fade to black.

Veda Scott is with Embassy Ltd.- Tommaso Ciampa won’t answer to anyone.  He stripped Lethal of his manhood by taking the TV title and if he wants it back, Lethal has to grow a set and take it back.

Match 1- March Mayhem qualifying match: Kyle O’Reilly vs. Tommaso Ciampa w/Embassy Ltd.-  I wonder who wins this match since next week’s 4-way already has 2 babyfaces and Ciampa is undefeated, hmmm?  Back & Forth early then Ciampa dominates.  Or’Reilly briefly gains control but Ciampa is too much.  Ciampa wins by knockout after a knee to O’Reilly’s head.

Border Wars promo with Jay Lethal, he challenges Ciampa.

Davey Richards promo- he says that O’Reilly is is own man but doesn’t like that O’Reilly doesn’t do the code of honor anymore.  As for his opponent tonight, well he’s gonna kill him.

Match 2- Davey Richards vs. Ryan McBride:  This is a proving ground match.  There waere some “Let’s Go Ryan” chants since he was the local boy.  but this review is probably longer than the match because Richards made McBride tap out to the ankle lock in under 30 seconds.

Kevin Kelly is in the ring and he is interviewing Kevin Steen.  Steen asks Kelly why ROH has been keeping him from wrestling on TV?  Kelly says that it’s because of his actions.  Steen goes on to blame Davey Richards, calls him a coward and has hid head up Jim Cornette’s ass.  This brings out Richards and Cornette.  While Cornette tries to calm Richards down, Richards accepts Steen’s challenge anytime, anywhere.  Cornette says that Steen must earn his shot.  Steen then congratulates Richards finally growing a set, or were his balls just been in Cornette’s pocket the whole time.  Richards then punches Steen who just smiles and leaves the ring.

Border Wars promo with the Briscoe’s-  There’s gonna be an ass whoppin in Canada.  Watch out G.

Inside ROH:

1. Recap of the Briscoe’s causing Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team to lose to Coleman & Alexander.
2. Jay Lethal calls himself the real TV Champ and is pissed off and face to face he will take his title back and will Tommaso Ciampa his first loss and become the true dominant male.

March Mayhem Recap

Match 3- March Mayhem qualifying mach: Eddie Edwards vs. Mike Bennett w/Maria and Bob Evans-  Edwards dominates until Evans lays him out outside the ring while the ref’s back is turned.  He had some nice looking welts on his back as a result.  Bennett gains control but Edwards doesn’t give up and regains control.  They then go back and forth until Edwards bumps into Maria, who goes on to play like she’s really hurt.  Edwards rolls Bennett for the pin but since the ref is checking on Maria he doesn’t see Bennett grab Edwards’ tights and reverse the pin for the win.

So next week’s March Mayhem final match will be Jay Lethal vs. Adam Cole vs. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Mike Bennett

ROH Intro

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness run down tonights Main Event.

Jim Cornette is in the ring.  He is going to interview all three participants of this Friday’s Triple Threat match for the ROH Title, Roderick Strong, Eddie Edwards, and Davey Richards.  They all say that they’re gonna win, shocker.  Richards takes the mic and says that this is gonna be the toughest match of his life.  He’ll kick Strong’s ass first.  He doesn’t trust Edwards.  Edwards is offended.  Strong calls Richards a MMA wannabe.  Jay Lethal comes to the ring, calls strong a butt-munch and asks Cornette why he isn’t getting the respect he deserves.  Cornette says that Lethal is in contention.  Kevin Steen then comes out and calls everyone in the ring hand shakers and ass kissers.  He wants Edwards to win so he can get his title shot Saturday but if he doesn’t then, he will eventually and when he does, he will win the ROH Title and then he will be Cornette’s worst nightmare.  He then calls everyone circle jerks and leaves.

Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team Promo-  Coleman & Alexander are a warmup match for them tonight.

Coleman & Alexander Promo- They are gonna prove to WGTT that they are not just a warmup match.

Match 1:  Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team vs. Coleman & Alexander-  Coleman & Alexander give WGTT a run for their money and they get the upset victory with a chair shot to the head of Haas by the Briscoe’s.  After the match Shelton Benjamin is in disbelief with what happened.

After a commercial break, Benjamin is pissed and says that Saturday is genocide for anyone named Briscoe and for anyone that cheers them.

Match 2: Michael Elgin vs. Adam Cole- Kyle O’Reilly is on commentary for the match.  He trash talks Cole the whole match.  This match was very back and forth but slow paced.  Same ending as last week as Roderick Strong comes out and hits Elgin, though it looked intentional rather than accidental, Cole get the win via roll-up.  After the matchStrong attacks Cole, O’Reilly leaves commentary saying he’d help him if he was still his partner, but he isn’t. Have no fear though, Eddie Edwards comes to the rescue and we fade to black with all four men tin the ring brawling.

ROH Intro

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us.

Adam Cole Promo- he says that the 10th anniversary show was the biggest night of his life, he’s mad at his former parthner, and he will make O’Reilly respect him.

Match 1- Adam Cole vs Chris Silvio-  I wonder who’s winning this one?  My money’s on the guy that pinned Davey Richards.  And that happened though Silvio dominated for most of the match.  The only real offense Cole had was at the end when he kicked Silvio in the head and hit Silvio with his finisher.  Kyle O’Reilly is on commentary during the match who trash talks both Cole and Edwards.  After the match O’Reilly challenges Cole to a match on 3/31 day of “Showdown In The Sun” to earn his respect.  Cole calls O’Reilly a bitch and accepts the match.

ROH Border Wars in on 5/12/12 in the homeland of our very own G, Canada, though it’s in Toronto.

We get highlights of Jimmy Jacobs vs. Kevin Steen from the 10th anniversary- Steen comes out on top and the match looked brutal.

Kevin Kelly interviews Steen-  Steen has a tennis racquet with a picture of Davey Richards on it.  Steen then says that’s what it would look like if Jim Cornette still carried one.  He then goes on to say that being ROH Champion is his destiny and when he is champ, he will hold ROH hostage and make Cornette kiss him all over.  Cornett then comes out, insults Steen and tells him that his opponent on the 3/30 day of “Showdown In The Sun” will be El Generico and that if Steen uses the piledriver, he is suspended.  Steen says that he will gladly take on Generico and he will take Generico out.

Inside ROH:

• Showdown In The Sun rundown
• Lance Storm says that he wanted Mike Bennett’s attention and that he is not washed up.  He’s been training longer than Bennett’s been alive.  He want’s to show Bennett some passion and determination.
• Davey Richards says that he will win both of his matches on Friday and Saturday and that when he does he will truly be ROH Champion.  He will take on all comers and that the only way the he will give up the ROH title is if someone takes it from his cold dead hands.
• The Briscoe Brothers mush-mouth about Wrestlings Greatest Tag Team, the shit’s gonna hit the fan in Flordia.
• Wrestlings Greatest Tag Team are gonna bring it and that they are better than the Briscoe’s

The March Mayhem tournament is explained to us:

• 8 Men put up $1,500 each
• ROH matches it, bringing the total for the winner is $24,000.
• 5 matches- The 4 winners wrestle a 4 way match on the weekend broadcast of 4/7/12

Highlights of Jay Lethal vs. Tommaso Ciampa- they wrestled to a draw, Ciampa takes the belt.

Match 2- March Mayhem qualifying match: Roderick Strong w/ Truth Martini vs. Jay Lethal:  Good back and forth match between the two, it really could’ve gone either way until Michael Elgin comes out and tried to help Strong out.  He messes up and whiel Strong and Elgin stare at each other, Lethal steals the win with a rollup pin.  We fade to black.

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness assess the situation regarding what happened last week.

Young Bucks Promo- they say that what they’re gonna do tonight to Coleman And Alexander is just a preview of what they’re gonna do to the Briscoe Brothers on March 4.

Coleman and Alexander promo- the Young Bucks don’t respect them, they’re about to breakout in the tag team division then Coleman breaks out into song.

Match1: Coleman & Alexander vs. The Young Bucks-  Coleman & Alexander dominate early, then the Bucks dominate for a bit.  Coleman then regains control and does some cool moves followed by Alexander who does some more cool moves.  Coleman then makes a mistake leading to More Bang or Your Buck finishing move and a Young Bucks victory.

We then got to Veda Scott who is with Embassy Ltd.  Tommaso Ciampa says that he will take whatever belt Jay Lethal has and he wants Lethal to win the World title tonight so he can become the first ever undefeated World Champion in ROH history.

2. All Night Express vs. Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team-  Rhett Titus is ready to comeback and that the All Night Express is better than they’ve ever been.

4. Roderick Strong want’s Lethal to win tonight because he thinks that he is easier to beat then Richards.  Strong pretty much says that he is overlooking Eddie Edwards next week since he is on a losing streak.

Veda Scott interviews Eddie Edwards & Adam Cole-  Edwards wonders if Richards is completely focused on tonight’s title match with Lethal.  Cole says he is focused and will have Edwards’ back next week.

Match 2: World Title Match Jay Lethal vs. Davey Richards-  Great back and forth match between these two.  During the match Tommaso Ciampa, The House Of Truth, Kyle O’Reilly, Eddie Edwards & Adam Cole all come out, eventually leading to a brawl outside the ring involving everyone except Ciampa who just sits in a chair.  Late in the match Lethal is dominating and is about to hit the Lethal Injection but he bumps into Adam Cole at the ropes causing Richards to kick Lethal in the head and getting the pin.  We then fade to Black.

ROH Intro

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness hype the main even of the 10 anniversary show which will be Davey Richards & Kyle O’Reilly vs. Eddie Edwards & Adam Cole.  They then go on to explain that because Shelton Benjamin is suspended, the the main event will be changed and we will find out later in the night.  This brings out Charlie Haas blames Jim Cornette and Tbe Briscoe’s for Benjamin being suspended.  He then goes on to say that he won’t deprive the fans from seeing him and action and calls out the Briscoe’s who come out and say “man up.”  Cornette comes out and makes the match which will be Haas vs. Mark Briscoe.  Haas agrees with one condition, that Jay be handcuffed to the ring post.

Back from break and Steve Corino has joined the commentary.  We then get highlights of Kevin Steen from last week killing the guys having the horrible match I told you about.

Match 1: Andy Ridge vs. Kevin Steen- Hmmmmm, I wonder who’s gonna win here.  Crowd chants of “Kill Steen Kill” and he does.  Corino doesn’t know why the fans cheer for Steen. Steen wins using an F5.  Way too long for a squash match.  Steen continues to kill Ridge, even threatening to piledrive him until Corino intervenes.  Jimmy Jacobs then blindsides Steen from out of nowhere and they brawl until security breaks them up.  Jacobs then grabs a mic and challenges Steen to a match and Steen accepts. (they announce later int the program that it will be at the 10 anniversary ppv)

Match 2:  Matt Tavern & Mike Mondo vs. Eddie Edwards & Adam Cole- Hmmmmm wonder who’s gonna win here.  Twice in the same episode too.  Edwards and Cole dominate for the most part but this is far from a squash match by any means.  Colw and Edwards get the win when Cole pins Tavern using a german suplex.  As the guys shake hands at the end of the match, Mondo pouts in the corner leading to Tavern and Mondo fighting each other.

Inside ROH:

1. Truth Martini refuses to pay the $5000 to the Briscoes since the House Of Truth won the match.
2. The Young Bucks are ready for the Briscoes at the 10th anniversary ppv.
3. Jay Lethal vs. Tommaso Ciampa for the TV title at the 10th anniversary ppv-  Lethal wants to win the world title from Davey Richards next week.  He also says that he will end Ciampa’s undefeated streak.  Ciampa says he will be the new TV Champion.

Match 3: Charlie Haas vs. Mark Briscoe with Jay handcuffed to a ringpost.  this was a good back and forth matchup with Mark getting the win with a rollup.  Haas then responds by hitting Mark with 2 Olympic Slams, taunts Jay with the handcuff key then hits Mark with a chair.  Haas then walks away with the key, grabs an envelope and a mic and pays both his and Benjamin’s $5000 fines and says that ROH played right into his plan and that as far as he’s concerned that the Briscoes are dead.  WE then fade to black.

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness hype tonight’s main even and Jay Lethal vs. Davey Richards matchup in 2 weeks.

Kyle O’Reilly promo- He doesn’t like the way Eddie Edwards has been acting lately.

Eddie Edwards promo- He blames O’Reilly for everything.

Match 1- Kyle O’Reilly vs. Eddie Edwards: Great back and forth matchup between the two.  Edwards gets O’Reilly in an ankle lock and Davey Richards comes out and appears to be on O’Reilly’s side telling him how to get out of it.  He does ant the match continues to go back and forth until Edwards kicks the ring post and hurts his ankle.  O’Reilly works on the hurt ankle and gets Edwards in an ankle lock until Adam Cole comes out, and discracts O’Reilly by backing Edwards.  The match then continues and goes back and forth.  It doesn’t seem like we’ll ever get a winner until Edwards gets the pin after a double rollup.  After the match, Edwards claims that since Richards has a new partner that Cole join him and be his new partner.  Cole accepts and Edwards challenges Richards and O’Reilly to a match anytime, anyplace, anywhere.

Match 2- Mike Mondo vs.  Matt Taven:  This is Taven’s first match on ROH TV, I wonder what’s gonna happen.  This match was pretty awful but I understand when Kevin Steen interrupts the match halfway thru.  He then shoots on both men and beats them up.  Steen then taunts Corrino but officials keep them apart so no fighting between the two.

Inside ROH pretty much focused on the impromptu Tag Team Title match last week.  Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team mock’s the Briscoe’s, Shelton is refusing to pay the $5000 fine on him for using the steel chair last week and they are gonna do any and everything to get another tag title match.  Jim Cornette says that Benjamin is suspended until he pays the fine.  The Briscoe’s mush mouth something.

Match 3- The House Of Truth vs. The Briscoe Brothers winner gets $5000:  Cornette is on commentary and announces that Richards/O’Reilly vs. Edwards/COle will happen at the 10th Anniversary ppv.  This was an alright back and forth matchup for the most part until Truth Martini throws power into Jay Briscoe’s eyes, blinding him until he rinses them out with a bottle of water.  He then goes to the back, gets a baseball bat, returns to the ring, uses it and gets a DQ win for the House Of Truth.  However Mark Briscoe grabs the monsy and the Briscoe’s are standing tall with $10,000 and a baseball bat in hand as we fade to black.

We begin with highlights of Kevin Steen killing everybody at Final Battle, for some reason I think Steen’s character is what Brodus Clay’s was supposed to be but we got a dancing fool instead.

ROH Intro

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness hyping the Main even of the evening.

Then to the Embassy LTD. The investor want better competition for Tommaso Ciampa and he want a shot at the ROH Title.

Match 1- TJ Perkins vs. Tommaso Ciampa:  We just heard from Ciampa I wonder what will happen in this match. Perkins dominates early until Prince Nana trips him allowing Ciampa to gain control for the most part the rest of the way.  Perkins does get some offense in but it’s Ciampa who get’s the win here using the Project Ciampa finisher.

Back from break and we take a look at Grizzly Redwood who gave us his “he overcame all the odds” story.

Match 2- Grizzly Redwood vs. Devon Storm:  The House Of Truth comes to the ring.  The crowd chants “Willy Wonka” since Truth is dressed like him.  Martini gives Storm 2 choices, 1) $500 and Elgin takes his place in the match or 2)piss Elgin off.  Storm takes the money and we get:

Match 2a- Grizzly Redwood vs. Michael Elgin: Redwood says’s he’s not afraid of Elgin.  Elgin squishes him.  On the bright side we got Martini on commentary for the match.

Then to a Promo from Steen saying that he will be in action next week and everything changes.

3. Wrestlings Greatest Tag Team is still pissed off at everybody and they want their title rematch. ROH wants them to pay their fine and then they can start from the beginning.
4. The first match has been announced for the March 4 ROH 10th Anniversary ppv and it’s The Briscoe’s vs. The Young Bucks for the tag team titles.

Match 3- Coleman & Alexander vs. Davey Richards and Kyle O’Reilly-Cornette is on commentary for this one.  All I can say about this match is WOW.  This has to be the best match on ROH TV I have seen to date.  O’Reilly & Richards get the win here with O’Reilly making Alexander tap out.  After the match Eddie Edwards comes and applauds the victors as we fade to black.

We begin with Highlights of the TV Title match from Final Battle

ROH Intro

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness hype up the no time limit TV title match tonight.  They also name this month Fighting February.

Mike Bennett Promo- he’s been screwed over of the TV title over and over again and again.

Match 1- TV Title Match Jay Lethal (c) vs. Mike Bennett w/Bob Evans and Maria Kanellis: good match here. Back and forth for 19 minutes. Lethal retains when Maris pushes a knocked out Bennett on top of Lethal only for Lethal to roll Bennett up and get the win.  Maria apologizes.

Interview with Eddie Edwards- He really doesn’t like Kyle O’Reilly.  O’Reilly shows up and gets in Edwards face and challenges Edwards to a match.

Back from break and we get Kevin Steen highlights from Final Battle, like we haven’t seen enough of them already.

Steen’s big return to TV and it’s an interview with Kevin Kelly.  Steen takes the mic, throws Kelly out of the ring, says he was kept away from ROH because he wouldn’t kiss as.  He then says that if the world does end this year, it will end with him as ROH world champion because he will rip Davey Richards apart.  He says that he is pro wrestling’s biggest nightmare as Jim Cornette comes to the ring.  The two exchange insults before Cornette tells about Summerslam 97 and Owen Hart dropping Steve Austin on his head.  He then goes on to ban all form of the piledriver (didn’t see that one coming).  Steen calls Cornette a hypocrite and is only banning the move to protect Richards.

1. The House of Truth are mad at the Briscoe’s because of what happened at the 80 minute 8-man elimination tag match.  The Briscoe’s mush-mouth something that I couldn’t understand and next week the two will face each other where the winner gets $5000.
2. On Feb 25 Davey Richards will face Jay Lethal.  Richards say’s he will come out on top.
3. All Night Express update- Rhett Titus says he’ll be back in 2 months instead of the 4 he was told and their coming for the Young Bucks.
4. Promo’s for the 10th anniversary show and the Showdown In the Sun, all happening in March.

Match 2- Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team vs. The Bravados:  Haas grabs the mic and refuses to face the Bravados.  They’re still pissed off at hoe they’re being treated.  Benjamin gets on the mic, mocks Baltimore fans and blames the Briscoes, calls the fans stupid for cheering them and demands the Briscoes come out so WGTT can have their rematch.  Cornette comes to the ring and says there’s no time for it.

Commercial Break

Back from break with confusion in the ring. Then the Briscoe’s come out say they’re not scared and start brawling with WGTT which leads to:

Match 2a- Tag Team Title match- Worlds Greatest Tag Team vs. The Briscoes:  This match started at the 54 min mark in the program so we won’t see much here and we didn’t as they pretty much brawled foe about 4 minutes ending with the Briscoes winning by DQ after Benjamin hits one of the with a chair.  We then fade to black.

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness are in the ring and they discuss the nigh’s main event.  It seems that Rhett Titus of the All Night Express injured his knee at Final Battle and had surgery so his partner is avenging it tonight.

We go to a Mike Mondo promo, he’s gonna destroy Eddie Edwards tonight. Yeah right.

Eddie Edwards promo, he’s not mad that he lost to Davey Richards, he learned from his mistakes, said his prayers, took his vitamins and is gonna try harder next time and will win the ROH title.

Match 1: Eddie Edwards vs. Mike Mondo- Mondo carries his own sign saying “Godzilla fears Mondo” with him, interesting.  I don’t get the throwing of streamers or whatever they’re called into the ring, I think it’s kinda stupid.  Edwards dominated here, but this isn’t a squash match with Edwards winning with a Die Hard.

Back From Break wan we get more Final Battle highlights, this time it of The Briscoe’s winning the Tag Team  titles for the 7th time.

Then comments from Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team who cut a heel promo, they don’t understand why they were fined $5,000 and they don’t understand why the Briscoe’s were cheered in NYC and they were booed.  I guess WGTT are heels now.

Comments from Jim Cornette stating that from now on all chair shots to the head will resule in a $5,000 fine, no exceptions.

To the ring and Jim Cornette interviews the Briscoe’s.  They want all of the $5,000 fines to go to them so they can retire.  They also said that they cant control the crowd reactions.  Thirdly they are ready to take on all comers.

Match 2 : Ricky Reyes vs. Roderick Strong w/Truth Martini & Michael Elgin- We get Martini on commentary on this one.  He says that Strong will win the title this year.  You know this one’s gonna end when we get the “he’s no slouch” comments.  This was a very good back and forth matchup however with Strong winning with a rollup pin and grabbing the tights.

1. Kevin Steen’s return.  He hurt 3 people at Final Battle and he doesn’t care, he’s on to bigger and better things and next week he will show why he’s “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare”.

3. March 4 is the ROH 10th Anniversary event on pay per view and it is only $10.

Match 3:  Kenny King w/ Rhett Titus vs. Matt Jackson w/Nick Jackson-  Titus came out on crutches and is supposed to be out for 4 months.   Great matchup between the two with Matt Jackson getting the win with help from Nick who grabs one of the crutches and uses it on King.

ROH Intro

Kevin Kelly and Jim Cornette tell us that they scrapped the whole planned show in order to show us highlights of the longest match in modern pro wrestling history, the main even of the Northern Aggression DVD, a 8 man elimination match.

Kelly and Cornette are in the ring with the Greensboro, NC Sinclair affiliate’s GE John Hayes, why I should care I don’t know, I live in New York.

We then go to prematch Comments from Both teams:

Team Red consisting of Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team, El Generico, and Eddie Edwards say that they are gonna win the match and the split the $10,000 prize evenly between them.

Team Black consisting of the House of Truth and The Briscoes say that they’re gonna win and then an argument erupts between the 5 men on how it will be split between them.

The 8 Man Elimination Match where the winning team gets $10,ooo: Team Red (Worlds Greatest Tag Team, Eddie Edwards and El Generico) vs. Team Black (The House Of Truth and The Briscoes)

It was really hard to enjoy this match since there was a cut away every 30 seconds but I understand because of TV time however what they showed was really awesome.  Here’s the elimination:

1. Shelton Benjamin by Mark Briscoe at the 48 min mark
2. Mark Briscoe by Charlie Haas
3. Charlie Haas by Roderick Strong
4. Jay Briscoe by El Generico at the 50 min mark
5. El Generico by Michael Elgin at the 63 minute mark
6. Michael Elgin by Eddie Edwards at the 73 minute mark (1hr 13 min)

ROH Intro

Jim Cornette and Kevin Kelly are in the ring and they explain how tonight we will be seeing highlights of their Southern  show in South Carolina. They also explain that we will have 2 proving ground matches tonight.

We get comments from Jay Lethal and T.J. Perkins regarding tonights matchup.

Proving Ground Match 1:  Jay Lethal vs. T.J. Perkins-  Great matchup between the two that almost goes the whole time limit until Lethal hits the Lethal Injection and gets the win.  Both men shake hands after the match and all is well.

Highlight package featuring the sights and sounds ofSouthern Defiance.

At intermission Cornette and Kelly bring us highlights of the Mike Bennett/Adam Cole match that opened the show.  Cole held his own and almost wins the match but Bennett gets the win using the Box Office Smash.

Cornette and Kelly are in the ring with Jack Connors who is the GM of the local Sinclair station in South Carolina.  Didn’t pay much attention here since I don’t live there.

We then get comments from the House of Truth and Wrestlings Greatest Tag Team regarding their Proving Ground Match.

Proving Ground Match 2: The House Of Truth vs. The Worlds Greatest Tag  Team-  This was a good match but it seemed to drag a bit.  WGTT wins here with Benjamin German Suplexing Elgin off the top rope and Haas pinning him for the win.

Cornette and Kelly sign out and let us know that next week’s road rage will be from North Carolina.

ROH Intro, no recap to start the show.

Nigel McGuinness and Kevin Kelly talk about tonights main event the Proving Ground match between ROH Champion and Michael Elgin.

We then got to a promo from Eddie Edwards who says he’s ready for Final Battle and no one will distract him.  The only one he will listen to is his trainer Dan Severn.

Match 1: Andy Ridge vs. Eddie Edwards-  Wonder who’s gonna win this one.  Truth Martini is joins on commentary for the match.  Good back and forth matchup between the two with Edwards picking up the win using the dragon sleeper.

After the match Edwards stares at Martini while Martini applauds him.

Back from break and we get a recap of the whole Tag Team Title feud centering around Wrestling Greatest Tag Team and the Briscoes.  After the recap we find out that the Briscoes were fines $5000 for their attack on Shelton Benjamin and Benjamin suffered a cracked rib.  He will be wrestling at Final Battle.

Match 2 Proving Ground Match: Davey Richards vs. Michael Elgin with Truth Martini-  Richards shows here why he was voted ROH’s Wrestler Of The Year at the BWF awards.  Elgin is no slouch here either.  Great match between the two with Richards picking up the win with a rollup with 1:27 to go in the match.  After the match Elgin attacks Richards while Martini holds the title over his head.  Eddie Edwards make the save but in the process accidentally hits Richards in the head with the ROH title belt.  Richards confronts Edwards leading to a brawl between the two that a bunch of referees,  wrestlers and Cornette couldn’t stop as we fade to black.

Match 2: Chris Silvio vs. TJ Perkins-  Billed as “The Battle From California” since one guy is from Los Angeles and the other is from San Francisco.  This was a great match all around with picking up the win with what I think is called the Destination Kick.

Inside ROH recaps the events leading up to the TV title match at Final Battle.  Promo from Mike Bennett who isn’t happy that he’s in a triple threat match for the title but he’s gonna win it anyway.  Then we get a promo form Jay Lethal who’s not complaining and is gonna win at Final Battle.  Nothing from El Generico though, so I guess he’s not gonna win though.

Interview with Eddie Edwards and Dan Severn.  Both men say that Edwards is more prepared than Richards will be.

Back from break and it is announced than next week Davey Richards will be in a Proving Ground Match against Michael Elgin.  Richards says he knows Truth Martini is up to something but he is ready.

We cut to Jim Cornette addressing the Kevin Steen situation.  He denies everything and says that he will have an official response next week, which will be later in this review.

Match 3: Kyle O’Reilley vs. Davey Richards-  Truth Martini was on commentary during the match showing interest at both Richards and Edwards.  The first hale of the match had a very slow squash match feel to it with a more exciting and quicker pace for the second half.  Richards wins when the towel is thrown in on O’Reilley.  After the match Truth Martini confronts Richards in the ring and is laid out byboth Richards and O’Reilley as we fade to black.

Match 1:  Coleman & Alexander vs. The Briscoe Bros.- pretty good match that was dominated mostly by Coleman & Alexander which turned into a brawl resulting in one of the Briscoes shoving the referee which I think got them DQ’d but just as the bell was ringing, the World’s Greatest Tag Team chase the Briscoes with steel chairs out of the arena as we go to break.

Back from break and Kelly and MeGuinness tell us that ROH security stopped WGTT before they could do anything.  Lame They also said that the match was ruled a no contest.

Match 2- Sean Casey & Raphael Constantine vs. Michael Elgin w/Truth Martini- I already know how this one’s gonna end and the match hasn’t even started yet.  Not a complete squash match but not far from it, Elgin Alabama Slams both men and pins both of them.

We go to Cornette who says he has a deal for Steen and we will all find out next week what it is.

Back from break and we have the Inside ROH segment talking about Eddie Edwards and his trainer Dan Severn.  We first get a quick rundown of how great Severn is and then we got to an interview with the two.  They blame Richards and show how hard Edwards has been training.

We then go to Roderick Strong who is “Training” in Tampa, Flordia. (He’s in a bar with women)  He says he’ll be at Final Battle and he will steal the show.

Match 3: TV Title Match featuring El Generico vs. Jay Lethal (c)-  Before the match Mike Bennett and Bob Evans come out and sit ringside for the match.  Great back and forth match with neither getting the upper hand very often.  Bennett at the 3 minute to go mark grabs the title, puts it on his waist and starts taunting with it.  Neither notice until Lethal is thrown out of the ring with less than 1 minute to go. Lethal attacks Bennett, gets back in the ring hit’s a Lethal Injection and has Generico pinned but Bennett has the referee distracted as time runs out. No overtime here as we end the show with Lethal Bennett, Evans and Generico all brawling as we fade to black.

Recap of the end of last weeks main event. Chaos ensued between about 10 guys on the roster. If I watched last week, I would’ve known.

ROH intro.

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness hype the main event then go to Jim Cornette in the ring.  He announces Eddie Edwards as the #1 contender for the ROH title and will challenge for it at Final Battle.  Edwards comes to the ring and says that he’s training hard but wont reveal who his trainer is yet.  ROH Champ Davey Richards comes out cuts the usual good guy promo then asks Edwards to team up with him next week and challenge the House of Truth.  Edwards says yes but that when the fans chant “Next World Champ” they’ll be referring to him.

Then we are shown what a Proving Ground Contest is.  It’s basically a team challenges the champions to a 1 fall match they can set the time limit and if they can win or can last the entire time with the champs, they get a title shot within 90 days.

Match 2: Worlds Greatest Tag Team def Coleman & Alexander:  They hit the Worlds greatest finisher for the win.  Both teams shook hands and hugged in a show of respect and then the Briscoe’s come out and tell them that at Final Battle, they will become the 7 time ROH tag team champions as we fade to black.

Hype package for both tag teams then the Briscoe Bros. def the All Night Express.  Titus claimed the Briscoe’s cheated by using a low blow which resulted in a beatdown by the Briscoes.

After commercial they show us proof that there was indeed a low blow.

ROH Focus on: The Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team- We already know how great they are.

After commercial Jim Cornette announces that he cannot reverse the decision but he does strip the Briscoe’s of the #1 Contendership so there is no #1 contender for the tag team titles.

Back to the ring and Cornette announces that next week there will be another match between the Briscoe’s and the All Night Express (which will actually be this week since I’m a little behind).  The Briscoe’s are mad, so mad in fact thhat they start fighting each other at the end of the interview.

Cornette says that ROH wont give them a title shot unless they win a #1 Contenders match next week against the All Night Express. The Briscoes then go on to say that they own them and that they’re their personal Bitch ant that it should be no problem.

Match 1: Andy “Right Leg'” Ridge vs. “The Dominant Male” Tommaso Ciampa- Steve Corino joined Kevin Kelly in the announce table for the match so I’m to assume that him and Ciampa will be feuding at some point.  This was pretty much a squash match with Ciampa hitting the “Project Ciampa” (think it’s called) for the win.

The main event is next for the ROH Championship.

Great back and forth match.  Both guys seemed to know each other pretty well since they were countering each other’s moves throughout the match.  Davey Richards retains by making Strong tap to the Ankle Lock the 4th time Richards applies it.

We are told there is a double main event next week and fade to black.

ROH Sold to Sinclair Broadcasting Group

ROH President Cary Silkin kept teasing a big announcement and after today’s meeting including the whole ROH roster, news finally broke, and it was huge. ROH has been sold to Sinclair Broadcasting Group and will return to National TV in September. International fans will also be able to see the show through the new ROH website coming soon and this is the biggest news in ROH history. This has the potential to push ROH to the next level and become a worldwide name in Professional Wrestling. You can see the historic press release below, taken from www.ROHWrestling.com:

“BRISTOL, PA. (MAY 21, 2011)–Ring of Honor Wrestling owner, Cary Silkin, announced today the sale of the promotion to Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., one of the largest television broadcasters in the country and which owns and operates, programs, or provides sales services to 58 television stations in 35 markets across the United States.

ROH, currently the third largest wrestling promotion in the country, just celebrated its ninth anniversary, and Mr. Silkin is excited about taking the next step towards increasing the company’s visibility and expanding its operations.

“We have been waiting for and working for this opportunity for quite some time”, he said, “and of our 9 years in business, there has been no better roster of wrestlers than this one to expose the ROH product to the masses. With Sinclair’s resources and many avenues of distribution, we believe many new fans around the world will be as captivated as those who have followed Ring of Honor over the years.”

The month of September will see the debut of the new Ring of Honor television program which will be syndicated across the Sinclair network of stations, and with it, ROH will become the only wrestling promotion in the United States with a major, multi-market presence on broadcast TV. But if you don’t live in a market with a Sinclair station, fear not, says Mr. Silkin. “Through our revamped website we will be able to make the TV show available to anyone in the world with internet access.”

Sinclair officials are enthused about the project as well.

“We are very excited about this acquisition,” commented Steve Marks, COO of Sinclair’s Television Group. “Television and professional wrestling have a long history of successful partnerships and driving viewership. Unfortunately, the broadcast networks have not protected that relationship, allowing professional wrestling to migrate to cable network distribution. We believe that the powerful promotional platform that our TV stations provide, coupled with our 22% share of the U.S. TV households, will allow ROH to achieve name brand recognition and grow its share of the wrestling market. When you consider the makeup of our station mix and the number of CW, MYTV and FOX affiliates we operate, this is a perfect fit for our viewer demographics.” Mr. Marks also noted, “Longer-term, we can envision syndicating ROH wrestling to broadcasters in markets where Sinclair does not have a presence, and even internationally.”

Mr. Silkin assures the ROH fans worldwide that they will be seeing the same exciting, hard-hitting style of pro wrestling that they have become accustomed to. “We have established the name Ring of Honor as synonymous with the best in-ring action in the sport. The only thing that will change is that it will now be easier for fans around the world to follow. Our visibility will increase greatly–our production will be upgraded–but the work ethic of our incredible talent roster and our athletic style of wrestling will remain the same. This is what our fans have told us they want, and we will continue to give it to them.”

The current front office staff, including Cary Silkin, Syd Eick, and Ross Abrams, will remain with ROH going forward. Hunter Johnston, a favorite of ROH fans for years as the masked grappler Delirious, will still handle matchmaking, Jim Cornette will remain as executive producer, and other familiar faces like ring announcer Bobby Cruise and senior referee Todd Sinclair will be in place.”
Additionally, longtime wrestling broadcaster Kevin Kelly, already the voice of ROH internet pay-per-views, will assume the TV play-by-play chair this fall. Veteran NWA and WCW promoter Gary Juster will come aboard to be in charge of live event operations, which are planned to continue in current ROH markets as well as expanding into new locations concurrent with the increased TV exposure.

Mr. Cornette, who along with Mr. Johnston, will be in charge of talent and matchmaking, sees this as a new beginning for pro wrestling. “This is not old-school wrestling, and it’s not sports entertainment,” said Mr. Cornette. “This is wrestling for the 21st century, a new style developed by fresh, young stars that incorporates wrestling, mixed martial arts and high-flying, high-risk action with unique personalities, and it’s showcased by a sports-based presentation completely different from any other product out there. In my 30 years in the sport, it’s the most exciting live-event wrestling experience I’ve seen, and I’m thrilled to help bring it to broadcast TV.”

A major press conference, open to wrestling press and mainstream media alike, is being planned for Baltimore on Friday, June 24th. This event will feature a number of the ROH staff and wrestlers both announcing news about ROH’s future and answering questions. The media event will be presided over by new ROH COO, Joe Koff. Mr. Koff, a longtime Sinclair executive with an extensive background in TV sales and management, also has experience in pro wrestling television production and syndication. Most visible of his projects may have been the first-ever live, prime time syndicated pro wrestling events, the Battle of the Belts, which aired from 1985 to 1987. These Championship Wrestling from Florida-based cards were broadcast live to a syndicated network of stations and may be best-remembered for the classic Ric Flair vs. Barry Windham NWA World Title contest from St. Petersburg.”

With surprisingly little hype, we open with a Television title match.

Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana vs. Eddie Edwards (ch):

Edwards defends his Television title against Colt tonight, and the personal fashion consultant to CM Punk is ready. Very loud chants of “Eddie Edwards!” After a sportsman’s handshake, the match is on! An icon of the title belt appears in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, along with a timer that began at 15:00 and counts down. The announcers tell us that from now on, all Television title matches will have a fifteen-minute time limit due to the entire show only having one hour of air time. Pay attention, TNA. This is how it’s done. Announcers Mike Hogewood and Dave Prazak actually discuss the match, the number of title shots that Cabana has already had, and generally treat this match as the single most important thing on the show. Pay attention, TNA and WWE. This is how it’s done. Edwards is all technical seriousness, while Colt displays the goofy athleticism for which we all love him so much. Last week’s debutante, Mike Bennett, sits in the front row with his coach, “Brutal” Bob Evans, and the two give their full attention to the match. Yes, they were already seated when the match began, and couldn’t really be distinguished from the rest of the fans if not for Bennett’s suit. Realism? Check. A slow, methodical pace ensues, with submission attempts and seamless reversals following submission attempts and seamless reversals. A chop-fest about five minutes in changes the mood and the pace, and things speed up. Very nice moment when Edwards leaps over the top rope to enter the ring, Colt dodges him and rolls to the floor, and Edwards lands a tope suicida through the ropes on Colt. So very smooth! Back in the ring, a small package gets reversed again and again, until both men roll around the ring like a giant ball of flesh. It really was funny. After trading lots of punches, Colt lands a huge moonsault on Edwards, and almost gets it, but Edwards barely kicks out. THAT was a nearfall! Less than five minutes are left now. A Colt 45 is reversed into an arm drag. A quick series of roll-ups and two-counts follows. Cabana goes to the top turnbuckle, but Edwards stops him with a jumping enziguri to the head and a backpack chin breaker. Cabana barely kicks out at two. One roll-up and bridge later, with 58 seconds left on the clock, Edwards scores the three-count and retains his title. Well done, gentlemen!

Winner (and STILL Television Champion): Eddie Edwards

Post-match, Mike Bennett hops the barricade, jumps up on the ring apron, and extends a hand to Edwards and Cabana. Dave Prazak points out that, as a wrestler under an ROH contract, Bennett is allowed to do this because it doesn’t disrupt the match. Edwards gradually extends his own hand, but Bennett yanks away and jumps down to the floor.

To the video package! “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels talks about wanting to prove to the world that he was still at the top of his game. Daniels compares himself to Randy Couture, and points out that the physical deterioration of age is balanced out with knowledge and experience. Daniels is such a great talker. I never knew that he had a degree in theatre. That explains everything.

To the video package for “Final Battle” 2010. Good stuff.

To the ring! Kyle “Not Tyler” Durden interviews Steve Corino and Kevin Steen. At “Final Battle,” anything can happen. Steen points out that everything that he has said will happen has happened. He will win at “Final Battle.” He will take El Generico’s mask for good, and Generico will have to leave ROH out of shame. If Steen loses, he will leave ROH because the company isn’t big enough for the both of them. Video footage of previous incidents between the two air while Steen speaks. Solid.

To the video package! Daizee Haze speaks on getting into wrestling to overcome the lack of respect for women and change the way that women in wrestling are thought of. Sara Del Rey echoes many of the same thoughts. Each woman will bring a mystery tag team partner, and a tag team match is on. I’m really looking forward to this one.

El Generico vs. Bobby Shields:

Shields is already in the ring. Generico wears the plain black mask and a towel over his own head. I’m reminded of Delirious and his “dark” turn. Two running Yakuza kicks and a center-ring brain buster later, El Generico gets the pin.

Winner: El Generico

Post-match, Generico sets up a chair in the ring and drapes Kevin Steen’s t-shirt over it. The shirt featuring El Generico’s severed head on a chair. He grabs a prone Bobby Shields and plants him with a brain buster on the chair. Generico walks away.

To the ring! The Kings of Wrestling have demanded this time, and Kyle Durden asks why. Chris Hero announces that, in order to whip their ace in the hole, Shane Hagadorn, into shape for the six-man tag team match at “Final Battle,” they are having an official Kings of Wrestling public workout exhibition. Hero will commentate, Claudio Castagnoli will referee, and Hagadorn will face – it doesn’t matter what his name is! No, of course Chris Hero doesn’t say that, but it’s the same idea. Hero insists that very specific rules must be followed in this exhibition match. The no-name jobber proceeds to beat the daylights out of Hagadorn. At every turn, however, Hero and Castagnoli constantly berate the jobber, change the rules, and make it impossible for Hagadorn to lose. Hagadorn, of course, wins. The Kings exit.

More ads for upcoming ROH shows. Nicely done.

To the back! Kyle Durden interviews World Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong, and his manager, Truth Martini. Strong faces Austin Aries next week. Martini talks trash about Aries. Strong says that Aries blames Martini for Strong’s winning the title, but Aries just won’t give Strong credit for being the better wrestler.

Main event time!

Erick Stevens (w/ the Embassy) vs. Davey Richards:

I love watching Davey Richards wrestle. That’s why I’m not writing a play-by-play of this match, and just enjoying it. It’s an intense, hard-hitting match, with Stevens targeting the midsection and back, and Richards absorbing a tremendous amount of punishment and refusing to stay down. Lots of strikes, kicks, chops, slaps, and headbutts. Prince Nana and Mr. Ernesto Osiris interfere. Richards finally gets the win with a Texas Cloverleaf/Ankle Lock combination that looked horrific. Wow. Great match, absolutely great.

Winner: Davey Richards

Next week, it’s the Final Countdown to “Final Battle.” No song, I’m afraid. Join me then for coverage and ppv predictions.

TNA coverage will be provided, for the foreseeable future, by Gee-Money himself, complete with the awesome gifs of dubious appropriateness that we have all come to know and love, and “Smackdown” coverage will be provided by a very special someone. Just wait, it’s worth it. What’s up in ROH-land? So very glad you asked!

We open with the perpetually-nervous Kyle Durden interviewing the notorious 187, Homicide. Cide has a “Butcher’s Rules” match against the Necrobutcher later tonight. What does that mean?What are “Butcher’s Rules?” Homicide doesn’t care. He doesn’t like Necro, his family, or his crew. This isn’t the old days of Colon and Abdullah, this is now. Necro had better praise the Lord with his family because “you ain’t comin’ home at all! You’re a dead man!” Somehow, when a guy called Homicide threatens to end your life, I’m inclined to believe him. I still don’t LIKE those sorts of things being said in wrestling, but it suits these two.

Steve Corino is in the ring. He talks about the approaching “Final Battle 2010” pay-per-view, as well as the fact that his best friend, Kevin Steen, has gone completely crazy. Steen faces El Generico in a “career vs. mask” match at the ppv, and Corino doesn’t want to see that. Generico was a nothing. Steen should be ROH World Champion right now, but he’s been stuck with “that masked retard” for way too long. Even Corino can’t handle Steen like this anymore. As a man and a coworker, he calls Generico to the ring to make a request. El Generico complies, wearing all black and a plain black mask. Corino blames Generico for driving Steen crazy, because Steen was forced to carry Generico for six years. Corino asks Generico not to go through with the “career vs. mask” against Steen. Is it worth losing his mask? Is it worth the pain that Steen will inflict? The fans don’t matter. Corino orders Generico to hand over his mask, and not have the match. Without his mask, Generico will leave ROH. ROH needs Steen more than Generico, and there isn’t room for the both of them. Just hand over the mask, walk away, and things will be done between them. They may all even be friends later. Generico starts to pull off his mask, but stops and pulls off his own shirt instead, ready to fight. The match between Corino and Generico is scheduled for tonight. Corino insists that no one wants to see them fight, as Corino is a legend, and will undoubtedly win. Corino demands the mask one last time. Generico slaps Corino. Corino pounds the microphone into Generico’s head. Corino takes advantage, dragging Generico around the ringside area and slamming his head into the barricade. Corino rolls Generico back into the ring, and the match officially begins.

Steve Corino vs. El Generico: In about four seconds, Generico rolls up Corino and gets the pin. Corino is furious, and clotheslines Generico in the back of the head before beating him down post-match. Generico recovers enough to drill Corino with TWO stiff running Yakuza kicks and a center-ring brainbuster. Generico talks smack over a prone Corino before leaving the ring.

Winner: El Generico

A video package airs detailing the feud between the Briscoes (Jay and Mark) and the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli). The ppv match at “Final Battle” will be the Briscoes and their father against the Kings of Wrestling and Shane Hagadorn. Papa Briscoe is definitely the scarier third man. One of the Briscoes shouts over the mic that Papa Briscoe “has been whippin’ our asses our whole life, so just imagine what he’s gonna do to you!” Nice. The match is non-title, but promises to be extremely intense.

To the ring! Jim Cornette makes the introduction for ROH’s newest signee, “the Prodigy” Mike Bennett. The dictionary definition of “prodigy” appears on the tv screen. Mike Bennett, in full suit and shades, walks to the ring with a trainer a la the first “Rocky” movie. The trainer is named Bob Evans. Bennett reminds me of Roderick Strong. Cornette asks what influenced Bennett’s decision to sign with ROH. Bennett credits Trainer “Brutal” Bob for the decision, saying that Bob told him that ROH was full of “tomatoes.” Bennett goes on to say that he’ll plow through the roster and rack up the wins. He promises a World title victory within 12 months. Bennett claims more natural talent than the Rock ever had, and that he’ll be running ROH in 2011. He’ll break the entire roster and leave them screaming for their mommies. The fans don’t take well to this. A straightforward introduction of a new heel that left the right impression on the audience.

To the backstage video clip! Kyle Durden (I always want to type “Tyler Durden” instead.) interviews Daizee Haze. Haze just wrestled Sara Del Rey to a ten-minute time limit draw, and isn’t happy about the non-finish. Del Rey interrupts the interview, claiming that she needs real competition and that Haze isn’t it. Haze protests. Both women shout over each other about bringing friends. At “Final Battle,” Del Rey and a tag team partner of her choice face Haze and a tag team partner of her choice. Who will the mystery tag team partners be? I’d love to see Amazing Kong, Serena Deeb, Hamada, or MsChif. I’m biased, though.

John Davis (of the Dark City Fight Club) vs. Rhett Titus (of the All-Night Express): I’ve never cared for the Dark City Fight Club. They don’t do much for me, aside from being two big-by-indy-standards black guys who do power moves. Rhett Titus is always fun to watch, though. Chants of “Hepa-Titus!” start immediately. Davis goes for the power game right away, but Titus counters with actual wrestling and gets the upper hand. Davis shoves Titus. Titus slaps Davis. Davis attacks Titus. Davis hits a power slam, but Titus kicks out at two. Titus lands a lovely dropkick. A very back-and-forth match ensues, with much being made of Titus’s focus on matches instead of on women. Titus pulls down the top rope as Davis flies over it, but Davis catches himself and jumps back into the ring with a shoulder tackle. Davis hits a spinebuster on Titus, but only scores a two-count. Titus lands a stiff knee to Davis’s temple with what the announcers call a new finishing move, and scores the pin.

Winner: “Addicted to Love” Rhett Titus

To the interview video package! World Heavyweight Champion Davey Richards talks about his upcoming title match against Roderick Strong. Richards is fantastic here, so natural, intense, and unaffected.

To the back! Kyle Durden interviews Television Champion Eddie Edwards. Edwards blames himself for not listening to Richards about what a leech Shane Hagadorn really was. Edwards talks up a very personal rivalry between the American Wolves and the Kings of Wrestling. Will those teams have a match? It can’t be at “Final Battle,” as the Kings are already booked. I’m confused. Edwards defends his Television title against Colt Cabana next week. Nice!

Grizzly Redwood & Mike Sydal vs. Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly: I do not know Cole and O’Reilly, so this will be the first match I’ve seen of theirs. Mike Sydal is, as many of you know, the younger brother of Evan Bourne, and his style is similar. He also has an odd configuration of stars tattooed down the entire left side of his back. The stars aren’t odd, just the placement. A fast-paced, very athletic match. Lots of strikes, kicks, working the legs, counters, and high-risk moves, like a top rope moonsault to the floor. These teams are quite evenly matched. Kyle O’Reilly is a protege of Davey Richards, and has trained with him for the past year and a half. Anyone familiar with Richards’s style can absolutely see it in O’Reilly. Insane corner moment where O’Reilly drags Sydal to the corner, tags in Cole, they twist Sydal’s leg behind his own head, hang him in the Tree of Woe, and land double drop kicks on him. Grilled cheesus! Cole pins Sydal, but Sydal kicks out at two. Cole places Sydal on the top rope, but Sydal fights out. Cole refuses to release Sydal, and plants him with a bridging suplex. Cole makes the cover, but Sydal still kicks out at two. O’Reilly tags in, and they isolate Sydal. Sydal tags in Redwood, and the action picks up even more. THIS is how you take a small comedy character and still let him look good in the ring. The ending of this match is just too fast to follow, and well worth watching. Cole pins Sydal after O’Reilly and Cole hit a wicked-looking combination that doesn’t yet have a name. This was a really good match, and I officially like all of these guys.

Winners: Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly

Homicide vs. the Necrobutcher (Butcher’s Rules match): This basically means that anything goes. I still love the entrance and music of the Embassy. It’s so pompous, and it always makes me smile. I miss Jimmy Rave as the “Crown Jewel of the Embassy.” Necro enters first, and pulls out tools, tables, and other assorted implements of destruction. Homicide enters next. Necro grabs a chair, and refuses to allow Cide to enter the ring. Prince Nana and Mr. Ernesto Osiris hop up on the ring apron as well. Cide paces on the floor, grabbing his own chair. The audience is totally behind Cide and the chanting gets very loud. Only in pro wrestling will you hear massive crowd chants of “Homicide! Homicide!” and it’s a good thing! I love this stuff. Chair swordfight to start! Necro wins. Cide takes advantage on the floor, and slams Necro’s head into the barricade repeatedly. Cide holds up a chair and slams it into the barricade, making a sandwich out of Necro’s head. He then chases off Prince Nana, and even turns on the referee when he tries to restore some order. Necro’s head is busted open. Cide throws a ladder at Necro from inside the ring. They brawl on the floor. With maniacal glee, Cide rips the metal barricade from the railing and hits Necro with it. They brawl on the floor. Back in the ring, no good can come from the big pile of steel folding chairs. Necro and Cide take turns attempting to put each other through a table set up in one corner, but counters follow counters. Cide solves this dilemma by mule-kicking Necro in the groin, then suplexing him through the table. Ouch. Cide sets up an extremely bloodied Necro for the Cop Killer (it’s called that again?), but Mr. Ernesto Osiris rushes the ring and makes the save. Kind of. Not for himself. Cide drills Osiris with the Cop Killer. It’s fast, it’s brutal, and it’s a thing of beauty. It’s a shame that the Gringo Killer never looked this sharp.  Necro recovers enough to throw a chair at Cide that hits him in the groin and drops him. Necro then proceeds to set up several chairs. Necro drops Cide back-first across the thin edges of the tops of two steel chairs. GOOD LORD!!! Necro follows this crime against chiropractice by picking up Cide for a body slam, holding a folded chair against Cide’s back, and slamming him down on the mat against it. Jeebus! Necro picks up another chair and tries to hit Cide in the head with it. Cide catches the chair and they grapple over it. Cide kicks Necro in the groin (again), takes control of the chair, and throws it at Necro’s head. Cide places a chair over the prone Necro’s head and grabs a second one. Cide tries to hit the chair over Necro’s head with a chair, but Prince Nana grabs it and stops him. Cide punches Prince Nana. The distraction is just enough for Necro to kick Cide in the gut and powerbomb him onto the pile of chairs. I can’t describe just how nasty this looked, as Cide came down almost on his neck. Necro makes the cover. Cide kicks out at 2 and 7/8, and everyone goes crazy. THAT was a nearfall! Necro sets up two chairs in the middle of the ring again and drags a nearly lifeless Cide to his feet in the corner. Necro makes the Embassy sign and gestures that he’s going to finish this. Necro picks up Cide to repeat the dropping back-first onthe chairs. Cide knees and kicks Necro in the face. Cide grabs Necro’s head and hits an Ace Crusher across the tops of the chairs. Cide follows up with a second Ace Crusher to the mat. Cide covers Necro and scores the three-count. Wow! I’m not a fan of hardcore matches, but this was breathtaking. Watch it if you can, it’s absolutely worth it! Cide mockingly makes the Embassy gesture as he exits up the ramp.

Winner: Homicide

The last time that I tried to do ROH reviews for this site, I failed in making it a permanent feature. Hopefully, the second time will prove the charm, and those of you without HDNet can keep up with some pretty fantastic wrestling. We open with a video recap of last week’s shouting match between Roderick Strong and Jim Cornette over the three-way match for the ppv, and the Black/Aries disagreement.

Tonight, Davey Ricahrds takes on Delirious and Colt Cabana takes on Eddie Edwards in the Television title tournament.

Eddie Edwards (w/ Shane Hagadorn) vs. Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana: Colt Cabana has such a fun entrance! He chases Reyna Von Tosh around ringside, checking out her backside. Huge chants of “Colt Cabana!” Handshake at the start of the match. Cabana teases Edwards at first, but Edwards takes control with headbutts and armdrags. Cabana rolls up Edwards, but gets a two-count. Headlock on Edwards. Edwards fights out and kicks Cabana in the head. Repeatedly. Cabana leaps over Edwards and back body drops him. Both men miss punches, but Cabana drops Edwards with a punch to the face. Cabana goes to the floor to deal with a suited Steve Corino. Edwards takes advantage and rolls him back in the ring. Cabana’s knee is tweaked, and Edwards targets said knee. After repeated twists and blows to the knee, Cabana fights back on his good leg. Cabana locks Edwards in a submission hold, but Edwards refuses to tap. Cabana attempts the Colt 45, but his bad knee won’t allow it. Edwards flies off the ropes and flattens Cabana, but only scores a two-count. Edwards locks in a Camel Clutch, and Cabana tries to fight his way to the rope. Cabana’s back and knee are targeted repeatedly. Edwards hits a backbreaker, but gets a two-count. Edwards grounds Cabana with a series of submission holds, but Cabana tries to fight out and reach the bottom rope. Edwards refuses to let go of the bear hug, and works over the midsection. Cabana yells “No!” and finally fights his way free. Punches and clotheslines for Edwards. A series of elbows to the head and a chop to the chest from Cabana. A reverse Flying Ass gets Cabana a two-count. A second one finds its target. Cabana leaves the ring again to confront Steve Corino, allowing Edwards to trap him in the Achilles Lock half crab. Cabana taps.

Winner by submission: Eddie Edwards

To the back! Kyle Durden is with Jay and Mark Briscoe. I’m not exactly sure what the Briscoes were saying, but it was funny. You just have to listen to this promo.

Roderick Strong is sick of being lied to. Austin Aries and Tyler Black have both used him for their own advantages. He’s coming to claim what is rightfully his.

To the ring! Jim Cornette introduces Shawn Daivari. Daivari enters to boos and some pretty cool music. Cornette asks him what his goals are. Daivari throws away his “Taliban get-up,” and demands to be seen as what no hillbilly promoter ever saw him as – a professional wrestler. He is not a sheik or a terrorist. He is a professional wrestler. He has money because he earned it wrestling full-time for the past ten years, not because he has ties to the Middle Eastern oil industry. Unlike the people of west Philly, he would never lower himself to accept a welfare check or a government handout. Cornette points out that Daivari incites controversy by calling racism everywhere. Why not stand up and be his own man? Daivari shouts that he will, and no one will stop Shawn Daivari! Fantastic promo.

To the video package! Austin Aries says that, of the three wrestlers in the World title match, he may not be the physically strongest, but he’s definitely the mentally strongest. All three men in the match hate each other and care only for themselves. That will make the match great. Another solid promo from A-Double.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Tony Kozina: Rather quiet crowd for this match. Reversals on top of reversals here. Kozina uses drop kicks repeatedly. Kozina climbs to the top rope and lands a huge flying headscissors to the floor. Really nice moment! O’Reilly fights back with some kicks, trying to take out the legs of Kozina. O’Reilly hits a drop kick on Kozina while the latter is in mid-air, but only scores a two-count. More kicks from O’Reilly, but Kozina doesn’t react much. Kozina lands a top rope bulldog, but O’Reilly kicks out at 2 3/4. O’Reilly takes over with a series of running kicks in the corner. Kozina rolls up O’Reilly, but O’Reilly counters and gets th epin.

Winner: Kyle O’Reilly

To the video package! Tyler Black says that Roddy has gone off the deep end over this, and could be more dangerous than Aries. Aries and Black always hated each other, but Strong had had a bond with Black once. Either way, Black is winning the match and keeping his title.

Davey Richards (w/ Shane Hagadorn) vs. Delirious (w/ Daizee Haze): Delirious has streamers in his mouth. The bell rings, and Delirious loses his mind. Delirious escapes a headscissors. Richards gets Delirious in a headlock, but the masked man works his way out of it. Delirious takes the early advantage, landing several running back splashes on Richards. Chants for Richards and Delirious, almost equally split. Richards misses a kick, Delirious rolls him up, and Richards twists the shoulder with his legs. Richards continues to soften up the shoulder of Delirious with repeated assaults. Delirious refuses to tap. Richards lands a kick to the gut. Richards goes to the top rope and lands a drop kick that takes him most of the way across the ring, hitting Delirious in the head. Two-count! More working over the shoulder of Delirious. Richards stalks Delirious around the ring, pointing at his own chin and telling him to bring it. Delirious kicks Richards in the face. Richards gets Delirious down and twists the fingers. Both men trade punches. Delirious lands the Panic Attack on Richards, followed by a forearm to the head. Delirious elevates Richards over the top rope to th efloor. Delirious lands a huge tope con hilo out to the floor onto Richards. Delirious rolls Richards back in the ring, lands a leaping lariat, and gets a two-count. Punches, elbow strikes, and chops. Richards locks in the kimura, and the shoulder takes still more damage. Delirious refuses to tap, but is now down to one arm. A Chemical Imbalance #2 gets Delirious a two-count. Richards clutches at his head, but fights Delirious on the top rope. Delirious leaps off in a Shadows Over Hell attempt, but Richards kicks him in the gut as he does. Richards gets a two-count. Richards kicks Delirious in the head, hard! Two-count. Cobra Stretch cinched in by Delirious. Richards fights out. Delirious lands a suplex. Two-count. Another Cobra Stretch! Two-count. Top rope drop kick by Richards on the shoulder of Delirious. DR Driver from Richards. Two-count. Kimura again. Delirious taps out. Wow! What a match!

Winner by submission: Davey Richards

Kevin Steen faces Eddie Edwards, and Davey Richards faces Kenny King in the Television title tournament. Nice!

To the video package! Tyler Black, Austin Aries, and Roderick Strong each speak on the World title match. Nice video here. A recap of Black’s win at the ppv, Aries’s demands for a rematch, and Strong’s demands for his title shot. This is a really good way to keep the focus on the World title picture without ignoring the other matches.
